Rooms are extremely plain and basic with carpet, furniture and color television - functional but not flashy. Bathrooms are basic and very small. No amenities e.g. soaps, shampoos etc. are supplied. Plain decor with reception area - 24 hour access to the reception desk. A perfect hotel for budget-minded travelers. This hotel is simple, with no frills, amenities or services, but at a great price and a great midtown location. Excellent for sightseeing – only five blocks from the Empire State Building. However, many rooms are very basic and would benefit from redecoration. Some floors are in better shape than others. The rooms are medium in size and are designed and furnished in a truly modern upbeat funky artistic fashion that utilizes a lot of bold colors. The hardwood floors throughout are a great feature. The hotel's lobby is small in size and is truly a work of art. The entire lobby area resembles a museum space as it contains a lot of great Pop Art. One piece is an actual Campbell's Soup Can that was designed and signed by the artist Andy Warhol. The artwork, range of colors and fashionable furnishings give the lobby a funky fun feel. The hotel is centrally located in the heart of Manhattan's historic Flatiron district which is a few blocks away from the Empire State Building. The hotel's location is a superb jumping-off point for doing everything there is to do in New York, including sightseeing, museum-going, shopping, and nightclubbing.
